U.S. jobless claims for the week ending April 18 are expected to show 4.3 million more job losses across the country. (8:30 a.m. ET)

IHS Markit's preliminary U.S. manufacturing index for April is expected to fall to 35.0 from 48.5 at the end of March. The services index is expected to drop to 32.0 from 39.8. (9:45 a.m. ET)

U.S. new-home sales for March are expected to fall to an annual pace of 647,000 from 765,000 the prior month. (10 a.m. ET)

The Kansas City Fed's manufacturing survey for April is expected to fall to minus-29 from minus-17 the prior month. (11 a.m. ET)
